Exam method

Read · Model · Estimate · Verify — every question, in ~88 seconds.
Read the units, SI prefixes and signs. Model the words into an equation before plugging in numbers. Estimate: look at the options first, round g→10 and π→3, and eliminate by order of magnitude. Verify with a quick dimensional check.

Dual-Pass — every past paper.
Pass 1 (timed mock): full exam conditions — builds stamina and forces triage, deliberately skipping the time-sink questions. Pass 2 (dissection): re-attempt untimed before checking answers. Solve it untimed → it is a speed problem; can't solve it → a real knowledge gap to reteach.

Mathematics 1 — universal core

Syllabus: units; number; ratio & proportion; algebra; geometry; statistics; probability.
Common losses: unit slips, percentage-base errors, algebraic sign errors, and misreading whether a graph wants a gradient or an area.
Best sources: UAT-UK Maths 1 guide → ENGAA Section 1 / NSAA Part A → AQA GCSE Maths.

Mathematics 2 — advanced maths

Syllabus: advanced algebra & functions; sequences & series; coordinate geometry; trigonometry (all quadrants); exponentials & logarithms; differentiation; integration; graphs.
Common losses: not simplifying before differentiating/integrating, losing the interval in trig equations, log-substitution slips, and treating a signed integral as an area without checking where the curve dips below the axis.
Best sources: UAT-UK TMUA / Maths 2 notes → TMUA Paper 1 archive → Edexcel / OCR A-level Maths.

Physics — maths under physical constraints

Syllabus: electricity; magnetism; mechanics; thermal physics; matter; waves; radioactivity.
Common losses: mixing scalar and vector reasoning, dropped unit conversions, inconsistent use of P=IV and transformer ratios, and forgetting that wave questions often encode amplitude indirectly.
Best sources: UAT-UK Physics guide → ENGAA / NSAA Physics → AQA / OCR A-level Physics → Isaac.
